Andrew Yang Quits Presidential Campaign – The Capital

US Democratic candidate Andrew Young refused to participate in the election race amid low popularity among voters.

“I am the math guy, and it is clear tonight from the numbers that we are not going to win this race,” Yang said a conversation with the press. “I am announcing that I am suspending my campaign for president.”

The main point of Yang’s campaign was the proposal to establish an unconditional basic income of $1,000 per month for all Americans over the age of 18.

Earlier, Young has repeatedly stated his intention to streamline the regulation of cryptocurrencies in the United States. So he planned to establish the Ministry of Technology, restore the Technical Assessment Bureau, which was abolished by Congress in 1995, approve the concept of a token and the principles for recognizing it as a security, distribute the authority to regulate the cryptocurrency market among existing departments, ensure consumer protection and clarify the principles of taxation.

The cryptocurrency community, for its part, supported Yang. Many participants expressed their approval of the policy promoted by Yang by posting the hashtag “#YangGang” on social networks. At the Democratic Party’s focuses in Iowa, however, he scored just 1% of the vote.

“We’ll be back,” Yang wrote on Twitter.
