Bitcoin raced in the Indianapolis 500 yesterday. The Indy 500 is one of the most popular automobile races in the United States. In the competition held yesterday, Ed Carpenter Racing raced a car fully branded with Bitcoin.
The race went very well, as driver Rinus Veekay finished in eighth place.
The race and the Bitcoin-branded car were celebrated with a Twitter post from Ed Carpenter:

The decision to have Rinus Veekay race in the Second 500-Mile Race in a Bitcoin-branded car confirms the link between sport and the world of cryptocurrencies, which is most evident in the United States, for example in the NFL.
