This might be well-known, and if so, just insult me until I feel so bad I delete my post. I didn’t know about these trackers more recently, however, and figured I’d share.
If you go to [gasnow.org](https://gasnow.org) (or [ethereumprice.org/gas](https://ethereumprice.org/gas) which has a nicer formatting, but pulls data from [gasnow.org](https://gasnow.org) anyway), you can find historical data over the past week, broken down by day/hour, of the average gas price of a transaction. Here’s the last week, using US PST time (UTC -7:00):

You’ll notice that weekends seem to be a bit lower priced over all, and the middle of the week, particularly mid-day, seems to be the most expensive. Now, if you need to do a transaction in a hurry, you don’t have many options, but if you’re just moving some funds around and don’t need to do so quickly, you may find it’s more efficient to wait until the weekend or at least avoid the middle of the day.
