Arizona Gov. Katie Hobbs is criticizing the level of preparedness by the federal government run by fellow Democrat President Biden for the end of Title 42 later this week.

“We have not received an adequate response” about plan for the related and expected surge of migrants at the southern U.S. border,” Hobbs said Monday at a press conference.

Title 42 is a decades-old public health order activated by former President Trump during the pandemic to allow the U.S. to immediately require illegal immigrants to return to their home country.

Biden has called for an end to the country’s COVID-19 pandemic-related public emergency on Thursday, which will deactivate Title 42.

“I’m afraid these challenges will only get worse,” Hobbs also said.

She also said that she’s “afraid that the federal government is unprepared” and that the situation is “incredibly frustrating.”
