Opening your Rediffmail account should not be too difficult and time-consuming, right? Depending in your Internet connection, it may take you around a minute or two to do it. But let’s pretend that you spend around 3 to 4 minutes, opening your browser, then accessing your Rediffmail. You then check your mail at least three times a day. So you’re spending around 12 minutes of your 24 hours accessing your messages. Multiply this by at least 30 days, and you’re spending 360 minutes just opening Rediffmail-that’s 6 hours a month. Surely by now you realize that you can do a lot of other things given that time.

That’s why it’s a good idea to seriously consider adding a Rediffmail icon right at your desktop, and there are actually three ways on how to do that:

First, you can display the desktop screen of your computer. Right-click on the screen and choose New. Then select Shortcut. In the space provided, past the URL of the login page of Rediffmail. You can then name the new shortcut. Click Finish.

Another option is to save the Rediffmail login page. Open your Rediffmail link. We’ve already provided that for you. On your browser, look for the File Menu. Select Save As. Don’t change anything, especially the file extension. Otherwise, the desktop icon may not work. You can then rename the desktop icon.

Lastly, you can just drag the Rediffmail icon directly into your desktop. To achieve this, open the login page and resize the window so you’re able to see your desktop too. Then, locate the icon of the e-mail service found in the address bar to your desktop. Use your leg mouse button.

Notes:

• You are free to name the icon with anything, but just to make sure that you don’t get confused, simply call it Rediffmail.

• Keep in mind that you’re just creating a desktop icon for the mail service so you can easily access it. You still cannot check your e-mail messages unless you’re connected to the Internet.

• You have to be careful about using the desktop icon. It’s highly recommended that you do this only if there’s no other else who uses your computer or laptop. You may be careless and somebody may be able to open your account without your permission.

• The instructions above are what we call typical directions. They may not be the exact steps you should follow since it all depends on the browser, as well as the computer, you’re using.
