EastEnders trailer shows Linda stunned as the Knights take over the Vic | Soaps

EastEnders has teased the dawning of a brand new era with an exciting trailer, previewing the arrival of the family set to take over Queen Vic with current landlady Linda Carter.

Linda, played by Kellie Bright, sought help from mum Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) in the wake of Mick’s (Danny Dyer) tragic disappearance at sea, with the mother and daughter duo going into partnership to run the show’s signature boozer together.

What Linda doesn’t know, however, is that Elaine has been harbouring a secret, intent on bringing her boyfriend George Knight to the Square to run the pub.

Fans have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of the Knights, with EastEnders having confirmed their debut scenes are set for none other than June 1, and now the soap has delighted fans with a short teaser trailer, previewing what’s to come.

Much like we imagine will the case in the show, Linda is baffled by the arrival of the Knight clan clan, while Elaine grins gleefully, welcoming beau George, played by Arrow and Doctor Who star Colin Salmon, with his daughters Anna and Gina in tow.

The trio join Elaine and Linda outside the Vic, with dog Tyson too, as they stand in front of soapland’s most famous pub, signifying the beginning of a brand new era for EastEnders.

Consider us very excited.

Colin, who also starred in Bad Girls, was confirmed to be joining EastEnders earlier this year, when the BBC One soap revealed future plans for the Vic following Danny Dyer’s departure.

‘I’m thrilled to be joining the cast of EastEnders to take on the role of George Knight,’ he said. ‘I’m excited to explore the character of George, a true East End gentleman having been born in the East End myself.
