*sigh* Here we go again…
Reality in my country dictates otherwise. So far only 4 bitcoin ATMs are functioning in the country (yesterday I learned of the 4th one).
People are overwhelmingly against Btc to be adopted, let alone be mandatory as legal tender. Don’t need to belive me, search the polls conducted in the country and you will see the numbers of people not willing to use Btc or that have a negative view on the whole bitcoin law is over 70%.
The government has done very little to educate our people about the usage of btc and crypto in general, and the regulations are lacking at best on how businesses and banks are supposed to handle the whole operation.
At least yesterday I saw the news that they are creating small kiosks in the parks of all major cities in which they plan to install ATMs, but this should have been done sooner, not 2 weeks from the whole thing to go live!
The whole thing is a very elaborate PR stunt, and crypto enthusiasts are eating it all up.
Please DYOR on this and don’t overhype that btc will create a revolution in our country, because so far, it has only created fear, confusion and descontent.
In my view, this will be the model in which future countries that are willing to adopt crypto will need to review and avoid at all costs. Much improvement is needed if mass adoption is the goal.
