Open Post: Hosted By The Mom Who Went Viral After Making Nachos In A Kiddie Pool

I’m going to assume when you have a lot of mouths to feed, you need to come up with the most efficient way to make sure you’re not the mom your kid discusses neglect about with their therapist. And one New York mother of 12, Alicia Dougherty, thought she created a cheat code for feeding her family by crafting a huge nacho bowl inside of a kiddie pool. But the internet thinks otherwise and immediately chastised her for her lazy culinary attempt.

Delish reports Alicia has no time for intricate recipes her family will enjoy because the only thing they really enjoy is not starving to death. And when you’ve got twelve children, I guess you need to cut down on prep time as much as you possibly can. However, Alicia’s TikTok pool party nacho hack looks very unsanitary, as it invites twelve sets of grubby hands to dig through nacho condiments, plating up what should now be forever known as the NO Nachos. Because all of this is an exercise in NO!

The TikTok shows Dougherty filling a kiddie pool with several bags of tortilla chips, then topping the chips with ground beef, melted cheese, salsa, shredded cheese, lettuce, olives, tomatoes, and sour cream. The clip then ends with her children surrounding the pool as they dig into the pile of nachos.

I don’t know about you, but I’m good with the Hand and Germ flavored nachos from a trough, but then again, I’m not the one who has to eat them. I’m also not the only one who believes this was an overall terrible idea.

“The chips at the bottom are just wasted lol,” one TikTok user pointed out.

Another person echoed their sentiment, writing “And how much of that did go to waste?”

“At what point do we start to think ‘this is insane’? cause I think you are beyond that point,” one user added

“This is vile,” another critic commented.

There were a few people who thought this was a brilliant idea, but they’re probably lazy cooks as well.  And this shouldn’t become a trend because what would it lead to next? Punch bowls with only straws and no cups? Ice cream scooped out with bare hands? Let’s pass around the collection plate to get Alicia some bigger bowls for her brood. Because this type of assembly line food service isn’t good for anyone.
