The Boston Celtics are in pursuit of their 18th NBA title this season. With Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett rooting for their former team, Pierce, the former shared what the team needed to do to ensure they win the championship.

The Boston Celtics have been one of the most exciting teams in recent times. Featuring an electrifying duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown, the Cs have emerged as potential title contenders in the last few years.

After a failed title run last season, the Celtics have bounced right back to make a run at it again. With Tatum and Brown leading the way, Boston have the best record in the NBA.

In light of the offseason tribulations, the Celtics have done a solid job of staying the course. However, they will need a lot more than this to ensure a win this season.

Former NBA champion and Celtics legend Paul Pierce recently shared what the current Boston team needs to do to ensure that they can hang the franchise’s 18th banner from the rafters.

Joining Kevin Garnett on his podcast “KG Certified,” Pierce was asked what he wanted to see from the team after the All-Star break. Pierce responded by saying:

“This is just something that Doc [Rivers] always told us. Don’t get bored with the process. I mean, they got the best record. You could easily be like, ‘We can’t wait for playoffs.’ No. The process is take care of the regular season because that will carry over to the playoffs. Because they know what the ultimate goal is to win a championship.

“So that’s just the one piece of advice. Don’t get bored with practice. Come in on days off. Get your shots up. Get out of there and get teams you’re supposed to beat, go ahead and beat them. Worry about the playoffs when the playoffs come. But right now, we’ve got to take care of business in the regular season. Make sure you get home court advantage.”

As former champions, both Pierce and Garnett have a solid understanding of what it takes to get past the finish line. With an emphasis on dealing with the regular season first, Pierce gave some solid advice to ensure homecourt advantage when heading into the playoffs.

While small bumps in the road are part of the process, the Boston Celtics have proven themselves to be a resilient unit. With a lot of the season left to play, Boston will hope to take care of business in the regular season.

Boston Celtics have the necessary tools to win the title

With the best record in the NBA, the Boston Celtics are obviously doing something right to ensure that they are on the path to a championship. Given their roster construction, they definitely have the necessary tools to win it all.

Last season saw the Celtics’ youngsters emerge as stars. With Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown leading the way, Boston looked like a force to be reckoned with. Meanwhile, Marcus Smart, Al Horford and Robert Williams provided enough support on both ends of the floor to allow the duo to shine.

This season has only seen improvements across the board. Tatum has looked like an MVP candidate. Brown has looked like one of the best two-way players in the league. Smart continues to be a menace on the defensive end. To top it off, the Celtics added Malcolm Brogdon, who just rounds out their bench rotation perfectly.

Overall, the Boston Celtics have the team to win it all. Some adjustment issues may remain, however, if things continue to play out this way, Boston have a great chance of walking away with title no. 18.
