If economies which compete with the US adopt BTC and thereby enjoy superior investment and economic development, then the US global monetary hegemony which is all that keeps USA from insolvency would be under threat.
For decades the USA has only remained solvent by printing the global reserve currency, because there has been no viable alternative.
Now there are at least two credible and contending alternatives the Digital-Yuan(DCEP) and Bitcoin.
Without the vast seigniorage and rent from printing the global reserve currency, the USA would be bankrupt very swiftly.
