It’s a big blow for Afghans at this difficult time because the flow of funds from migrant workers overseas is a key lifeline for many Afghans and have helped the economy of one of the world’s poorest nations weather years of violence and instability.
Just a few hours after this African Bitcoin startup [Bitnob set up a lightning node and integrated lightning payments in its app](https://bitcoinist.com/watch-jack-mallers-send-free-instant-non-reversible-10-to-nigeria/) to enable feeless, instant remittance payments to Nigeria and Ghana through the Bitcoin lightning network.
No banks or agents will be required and also the person receiving the money does not need to travel to Western Union office to collect their money.
